In this 2 hour course you will learn the basics of using a sewing machine, we will cover everything from setting your machine up, threading the needle and bobbin to changing threads and tensions. I have over 25 professionally trained years experience in all things sewing and and pattern cutting and started my sewing journey at the age of 8 on my nan's old hand turned singer! I graduate from The London College of Fashion in 2001 top of the class and had my designs exhibited in the London Fashion Week for 3 years in a row.

You will learn what needles to use for different fabrics and which feet to use for zips, to cleaning and maintaining your machine. We will build up your confidence in sewing different stitch lengths and fabrics giving you 100% more confidence to start that project you always wanted to do.

You have the opportunity to bring your own machine which I will help you set up and  or use the machines set up in my studio. There a three machines available which will offer different features. There will be other session available soon on sewing zips, button holes and making tote bags and pillow cases. 

My Machines are:

Machine 1 Janome my stitch 21. Great basic machine with simple stitch controls and easy to use

Machine 2 Toyota. More functions then the Janome and a great all rounder

Machine 3 Uten or what I call 'my beast' This machine is digital and has 100's of features and embroidery settings but just as easy to use as the other two.

These classes are in person and located in Banbury Oxfordshire. OX17 2NE Email confirmation will be sent with full address and directions

There is a number 500 bus which stops in Middleton Cheney and my studio is a 10 minute walk from the bus stop

Driving make your way to the A422 and look for the signs Burgess Farm Industrial estate. Plenty of parking onsite. 

Each course can have a maximum of 2 people. If you would prefer a 1-2-1 session please email me and we can arrange a date.
