In this hands-on workshop, you'll learn the art of sewing your own unique tote bag that reflects your personal style. I will be on hand to guide you through every step of the process, ensuring that you leave with a beautifully handcrafted tote bag you'll be proud to carry.
What to Expect:
This will take approximately 3 hours to complete. 2 people per session maximum
Introduction to Tote Bag Basics: We'll start by introducing you to the essential tools and materials needed for this project, ensuring you have everything you need to get started.
Fabric: Please bring along your own fabric, allowing you to create a tote bag that's uniquely yours. You will need approx. 1 meter of your main fabric and 1 meter of a lining fabric. All threads and fastenings are included.
Cutting and Measuring: Learn the proper techniques for measuring and cutting fabric, ensuring precise and clean edges.
Sewing Fundamentals: I will teach you the basics of using a sewing machine and, making it accessible for beginners and those looking to refresh their skills.
Assembly and Finishing: Piece together your tote bag, focusing on seams, handles, and any additional features. You'll also learn finishing techniques that give your creation a polished look.
Tips and Tricks: Throughout the lesson, I will share invaluable tips and tricks, from selecting the right thread to troubleshooting common sewing issues.
By the end of this sewing lesson, you'll have gained the knowledge and confidence to design and create your own cute tote bags, ready to carry your essentials or give as thoughtful, handmade gifts to friends and family. My Machines are:
Machine 1 Janome my stitch 21. Great basic machine with simple stitch controls and easy to use
Machine 2 Toyota. More functions then the Janome and a great all rounder
Machine 3 Uten or what I call 'my beast' This machine is digital and has 100's of features and embroidery settings but just as easy to use as the other two.
As much tea and coffee that you can drink! as all refreshments are included :)
